The return of the “Redskins” would be so iconic …
Not only did they have iconic branding, they also had quite the history as an NFL franchise, so the Washington Redskins should have never changed their name to the Washington Commanders — especially considering how lame that name is.
But don’t take it from me, just ask President Donald Trump who once again showed his support for the Commanders to bring back the “Redskins.” The name was changed after criticism was thrown at the franchise for alleged racism against Native Americans. Trump, who has become the greatest sports president of all-time and also served as a football executive, was questioned by Lucas Tomlinson of Fox News if the Commanders should return to the Redskins after switching it up in 2022.
“Well, you want me to make a controversial statement? I would,” said Trump. “I wouldn’t have changed the name. It just doesn’t have the same, it doesn’t have the same ring to me.”

Honestly, I don’t think we’ll ever see the return of the Redskins, corporations are too sensitive for that kind of stuff. But just imagine the feeling if we ever did get to that point … so legendary.
At the same time, I didn’t think I would see culture sway towards Trump the way it has, so I guess we’ll see.
